Support for Youth, Families, and the Community
Explore the primary areas through which Reach Out Grand Bahama serves young people and families.
Positive role models can change the direction of a young person’s life. Reach Out’s mentoring initiatives provide guidance, encouragement, accountability, leadership development, and opportunities for young people to build confidence and purpose.
The Boys to Men Conference brings young men together with community leaders, mentors, professionals, and speakers who address education, responsibility, character, entrepreneurship, decision-making, and preparation for adulthood.
Reach Out helps students overcome barriers that can affect learning and academic progress. Educational initiatives include homework assistance, tutoring, literacy support, school-supply drives, technology access, enrichment activities, and encouragement from caring adults.
These programs help young people remain engaged in school and better prepared for future opportunities.
A child cannot learn or thrive when basic needs are unmet. Reach Out’s feeding and family-support initiatives provide meals, groceries, school-breakfast assistance, clothing, seasonal support, referrals, and practical help for families facing hardship.
The goal is to provide immediate relief while helping families remain connected to wider community resources.
Sports and structured recreation help young people develop discipline, teamwork, confidence, healthy habits, and positive relationships.
Reach Out uses athletics and recreational activities as tools for mentoring, character development, leadership, and constructive use of time outside school.
Reach Out responds when Grand Bahama’s communities face hurricanes, emergencies, or other serious challenges.
Following Hurricane Dorian, the organization helped distribute meals, groceries, clothing, supplies, and other assistance to affected families. Community outreach also includes school drives, Christmas giveaways, clothing distributions, and support for residents experiencing hardship.
